I was sitting at my computer this morning when I saw a flash of movement from the corner of my eye….a kangaroo and its juvenile hopping past the window. Off to investigate, and with camera in hand, I found them both nibbling the grass in the back garden. This is not so uncommon here, but then I noticed the larger one had a joey in its pouch, so the juvenile must have been last year’s young one. The joey occasionally stuck its head out, and would eat grass when its mother did, but it was most interesting to see the Mother actively push it back inside the pouch if it felt threatened by my presence. I was able to get these shots without too much effort – the benefit of a long lens!

No doubt a long lens is vastly superior to a photo camera
